Service Center Oryza Team Wins U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ Contract

Ashburn, VA – U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS, a division of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security) has awarded its four year Service Center Operations Support Services contract in Vermont and California (SCOSS B contract) to Service Center Oryza Team (SCOT, a partnership of The Oryza Group and FCi Federal). FCi Federal, the incumbent professional services firm, partnered with Oryza Group, a service disabled veteran small business, to secure this contract.

“Delivering high quality performance and results to USCIS has long been among our top priorities and FCi Federal is happy to be part of the winning team for the next SCOSS contract at the Vermont and California Service Centers,” said FCi Federal Founder and CEO Sharon Virts. “Considering each year the service centers handle about four million applications for immigration benefits and deposit over $1 billion in fees, the function of the service centers is vitally important to the mission of the U.S. government and USCIS, and FCi Federal is extremely proud to be part of the process.”
The Service Center Operations Support Services (SCOSS) contract provides administrative and records management support services for USCIS Service Center Operations with approximately 2,700 government employees in four states.  SCOSS A includes the Texas and Nebraska Service Centers and SCOSS B includes Service Centers in Vermont and California. The Service Centers handle correspondence management, data collection, fee collection, and file operations supporting USCIS immigration services.

“I dedicated the first part of my life to serving my country in the military, and I’m proud to continue that service today by supporting USCIS and by also hiring and helping veterans as they transition out of the military and into the workforce,” said Oryza Group president, Leland Rice. “Our partnership with FCi Federal makes this possible. Working with such a successful firm, we believe this partnership will deliver the highest quality results to USCIS in the coming years.”

SCOT personnel at the Vermont Service Center (VSC) will transition to employees of the Oryza Group and SCOT personnel at the California Service Center (CSC) will transition to employees of FCi Federal. The new SCOSS B contract officially begins in early August and the transition to SCOT begins immediately.
